Who We Are Looking For
Limelight Performing Arts is seeking experienced Summer or Day Camp Teachers and Instructors to direct our theatre based summer camps at local schools/parks in the Westshore area of Victoria, BC. If you love working with school aged children 5-12 years of age, have child care education and/or performing arts experience (theatre, music, and/or dance) then we want to hear from you!
We are seeking dynamic individuals capable of providing engaging and enthusiastic leadership while implementing warm ups, acting games, introductory acting, group singing, and ensemble dance routines through to rehearsals for each week ending performance.
Responsibilities
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching and leadership in the following areas:

Implement icebreaker warm ups and acting games daily to impart valuable theatre skills while boosting confidence, unleashing students’ imaginations, enhancing focus, and aiding in developing as a cohesive ensemble

Choreograph original ensemble dance routines suitable to students’ skill levels and interest

Provide clear instruction, constructive feedback, and positive encouragement to see students improve their skills.

Work in close collaboration with the Artistic Director to craft an enticing camp experience.

Oversee campers throughout rehearsals, breaks, and transitions, ensuring their safety, well-being, and active participation.

Foster creativity, self expression, and teamwork among students.
Qualifications
Candidates must be proficient in the following areas:

Experience in teaching drama, dance or music, especially with school aged children. Child care experience is also an asset.

Ability to choreograph engaging yet simple ensemble routines for various ages of students.
​

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to talk and engage with young students.
​

Enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine love for young people and the performing arts.
​

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
​

First Aid (or willing to obtain) & Criminal Record Check.
Salary & Benefits
Expected Start Date: June 2024
Job Type: Seasonal Full Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:45-3:15, possible Saturdays TBD
Salary: $17.90-$25 (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
